The Ship That Sailed into the World

There once was a ship filled with a million treasures. A few young pirates lived on the ship, and they were amazed they had stumbled upon such riches. They didn’t earn this treasure nor did they go on a big hunt with a treasure map to find it. It just appeared one day and the pirates jumped in with all joy and gladness.

For a few years the pirates just sat there in the ship enjoying the treasures. They were able to eat all they wanted on the ship, for people would deliver food to them. They were rich beyond their wildest dreams. Then, one day, the pirates were so happy and filled with goodness that they said to one another, “Perhaps we should go and take this out to the world? Maybe we should spread our wealth? It seems there is enough here to make every last child on earth rich and well-fed.”

And so they departed with joy, excited to share their treasures with the world. But a black bird flew down to them, cunning and quick. As they began sailing out into the world, the black bird said, “Are you sure you want to share your treasure with the world? Won’t you become poor and go back to your old way of living?” And the pirates thought about it for a moment.

One of them said, “Well, we were the ones who found the treasure after all. And we were the ones who have protected it the last few years. Maybe we should be the ones who keep it forever. The rest of the world will figure something out…”

WHOOSH!!!! At that moment a fiery arrow came sizzling through the air and went right through the heart of the black bird. He stood still for a moment, only to fall dead into the sea. And then, a heavenly drum beat began to play through the air.

Boom, bim bim, boom. Boom, bim bim, boom.

As the drum beat continued, the pirates looked around astonished at the fiery arrow that killed the black bird and the new drum beat that emerged in its wake.

Boom, bim bim, boom. And there appeared to them a whale who swam up to the surface of the sea and began to speak with the pirates. He was dazzling and bright, shining like the sun. And there were seven dolphins that circled this great whale. The drum beat continued as he spoke. Boom, bim bim, boom.

The whale began to rap over the drum beat in a beautifully slow manner.

“I’ve been sent here today to speak with you men,

To tell you something on behalf of a Friend:

The Lamb of creation, He stands alive,

And this is what He has to say to you guys:

All of the treasure you found in your ship

Comes from Me, it’s a heavenly gift.

It all flows straight from My amazing grace,

To fill you all with all joy and faith.

And so these treasures are not yours alone.

They belong to the world, and in every home.

Indeed there is more than enough for all,

So sail into the world and stand up tall.

I’ve sent you with ENOUGH today,

I’m with you always, my love remains.”

And with that, the whale leapt above the surface of the sea. For a moment there was an eclipse, for the whale covered the sun. Then, as he came down, there was a splash such as the sea had never experienced before. To this day there has never been a greater splash in all of the oceans, not the Atlantic, the Pacific, nor the Indian or Arctic.

The great splash propelled the ship out into the world, farther than any of the pirates had ever gone. And they sailed around the whole world sharing their treasures with everyone. Boom, bim bim, boom. Boom, bim bim, boom.

Boom,

bim bim,

boom…
